OKALOOSA COUNTY TRANSPORTATION DISADVANTAGED COORDINATING BOARD

The Okaloosa County Local Coordinating Board, comprised of state agency and community representatives of the transportation disadvantaged population, was created in 1990 to identify local service needs and to provide information, advice, and direction to the Okaloosa County Community Transportation Coordinator (CTC), Okaloosa Board of County Commission.
The Florida-Alabama Transportation Planning Organization (FL-AL TPO), or Designated Official Planning Agency, serves as staff to the Okaloosa County Local Coordinating Board. The FL-AL TPO is responsible for organizing the meetings for the Okaloosa County Local Coordinating Board which occur quarterly (4 times per year). Each meeting is advertised, allows the opportunity for public comment, and includes an agenda as well as minutes from the previous meeting. In addition, several reports are completed by the FL-AL TPO for the Okaloosa County Local Coordinating Board. These reports are required as part of a planning grant the FL-AL TPO receives from the Florida Commission for the Transportation Disadvantaged.
