Environmental Symposium2The Bay Area Resource Council (BARC), the University of West Florida’s Environmental Studies Department and the West Florida Regional Planning Council  cordially invite you to attend the 28th Annual BARC Environmental Symposium.

The event is FREE but you must register. purpose of this symposium is to highlight the year anniversary of the floods that impacted the Pensacola area and the implications of stormwater. The symposium will include  outside demonstrations, exhibitors and presentations from experts on topics such as:

  • The Basin Management Action Plan (BMAP) Program – Bayou Chico FDEP
  • The National Pollution Discharge Elimination System (NPDES)
  • Low Impact Development (LID) – US EPA
  • Nutrient loading, water quality criteria and Total Maximum Daily Loading  (TMDL)
  • Groundwater issues

The keynote speaker for this event will be from the US EPA to discuss to benefits of Low Impact Development (LID). Other invited speakers and attendees will include members of the public and private sector industry, as well as local, state, and federal officials.
