The West Florida Regional Planning Council is always looking for opportunities to gain public input on transportation planning including roadway capacity, freight, public transit, and bicycle and pedestrian needs. Public meetings are advertised and held as plans are updated, however the Transportation Planning Organizations (TPOs) in northwest Florida are also available to schedule private presentations for organizations. The panhandle is served by three TPOS: the Florida-Alabama TPO which is made up of the urbanized areas of Escambia and Santa Rosa counties along with Lillian and Orange Beach, Alabama; the Okaloosa-Walton TPO including the cities and surrounding areas of Crestview, Ft. Walton and Destin; and the Bay County TPO encompassing all of Bay County. Community groups, non-profits, service clubs, homeowners’ associations and other organizations interested in having a presentation should contact Brandi Whitehurst at 850-332-7976, x204 or brandi.whitehurst@wfrpc.org.
